Who we are.
March 2022 Rick and Danielle (Godson) Hopfensperger purchased Still Wally's Still from Chris Koga. Rick was born and raised in Black Creek, Wisconsin. Rick started working with his father at Triple R Remodeling. Rick bartended and cooked at Boman's Place in Black Creek for Ken and Jan Boman. Jan Boman had a big influence on how Rick cooks to this day. He started driving bulk milk trucks in 1983 and has driven big trucks his whole life. Rick moved to Ripon, WI and started his own trucking company, RK Transport, in 1997. Rick also bartended and cooked at Players Bar in Gill in Ripon and at Sandy’s in Rosendale, WI during this time.
Danielle grew up in Brandon and Ripon. Danielle started working at Smucker’s in September 1996. Danielle worked at Smucker’s for 26 years. In that time, she ran many equipment, her favorite being any labeler. She was a supervisor, worked on many projects, and worked in education & training. Later in life, Rick started working at Smucker’s. This is where Rick & Danielle met.
Rick was bored with one job and took on a second job with Foust Excavating, inc. in Oshkosh driving dump truck and plowing snow. After a few years of two jobs, he finally “retired” from Smucker’s to work one job.
Rick’s life dream was always to own a bar and grill. He loves people, loves to cook, and loves to work. He dreamed of having a large smoker to cook his amazing ribs in and to use his wife’s BBQ sauce on them.
